LeadingAge PA, is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as our Data Analyst. In this role, you will support the Association’s initiatives by: coordinating data collection, analysis and dissemination efforts; developing appropriate data storage and retention methods, and developing policies and practices to meet the needs of the Association.
This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Director of Education and Research. Duties would include, but not be limited to the following:
Manage data extraction and manipulation of large relational databases from various external sources including: federal, state and local government agencies; local, state and national public databases; internet resources; related associations and organizations; contracted consultants and identified business partners.
Identify new and maintain existing sources of data to ensure the availability of information for reporting purposes.
Develop and store data sets that track trends across the long-term care continuum to assist in meeting the policy objectives of the Association and to assist Association members in the review of their facility care delivery models.
Manage Association data projects as directed and in conjunction with agreements with outside consultants.
Generate statistical and/or fiscal analysis in support of the Association’s advocacy and public policy strategy.
At the direction of the senior executive team, compose educational materials to be distributed to the legislative and regulatory community that convey the Association’s strategic initiatives.
Provide recommendations and guidance regarding the appropriate statistical approaches to answering key research questions.
Analyze data and survey results from various sources to create an understandable and useable format to share the results with members.
Design and prepare reports that use advanced statistical methods to interpret, authenticate, and analyze data relating to the Association’s members. Analyze expenditure and utilization data using qualitative and quantitative techniques in order to support financial and quality benchmarking and forecasting models. Use charting and spreadsheet software to design complex graphical and spatial representation of the data.
Conduct any required financial or numerical analysis of proposed legislation or regulation and determine the impact to the Association’s members. Design narrative and interpretive reports to convey the findings of statistical analyses and recommend a course of action based on analyses.
We desire an individual who is adept at understanding research protocols and possesses strong statistical and analytical skills. Prior specialized training or experience in health care preferred. Must have extensive computer knowledge, particularly with databases and the manipulation of complex data. College credentials and/or equivalent experience would be considered.
