Responsibilities include maintaining computer software applications for GL, AP, Fixed Assets and Project Accounting; preparing financial reports; maintaining bank accounts; processing vendor invoices for payment; assisting Financial Director with preparation of annual budget, annual audit, and developing and implementing internal control procedures.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for enterprise fund accounting and governmental accounting principles promulgated by the GASB and FASB.
At a minimum, applicant must have a BS in accounting or finance and 3 years professional accounting work experience. CPA or CMA is preferred, but not required.
At time of hire, candidate must possess a valid PA driver's license and meet our insurance provider’s eligibility requirements. A pre-employment medical exam and drug test are required.
About Lancaster Area Sewer Authority
The Lancaster Area Sewer Authority (or LASA) is a municipal authority organized in 1965 under the Pennsylvania Municipality Authorities Act of 1945. LASA currently owns, operates, and maintains a sanitary sewer system that serves approximately 37,000 customers representing about 100,000 citizens and 1,300 businesses located in eight Lancaster County municipalities. The LASA system includes approximately 560 miles of pipeline, 38 pumping stations, and a treatment facility designed to treat 15 million gallons of wastewater per day.
