This is professional accounting work assisting the Financial Reporting Manager and Finance management in reaching goals of proper and timely processing, recording and reporting of court bills for payment, collection of court revenues, and all financial transactions. The selected candidate will work independently under the direction of the Financial Reporting Manager.
Responsible for preparation of month-end and fiscal year-end financial statements and reconciliations.
Prepares financial information for reporting to the Governor’s Budget Office related to the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
Responsible for federal grant accounting and reporting activities.
Coordinates work and prepares information necessary for independent audit.
Prepares federal and state tax filings.
Assists in enhancement of financial reporting systems.
Assists in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting, AND two years of professional accounting experience.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered
Additional Requirements / Preferences:
At least three years of progressively responsible accounting experience preferred.
Two years of federal grant accounting and reporting experience preferred.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access) required.
Strong organizational, planning, administrative, and communication skills required.
Satisfactory criminal background check required.
